TRUCKERS / PRIVACY POLICY
Privacy policy
How Truckers handles information in the app, on this website and when you contact us.
Who is responsible?
Truckers and Irish-truckers.com are provided by Diarmuid Keane. Contact info@irish-truckers.com about this policy or your personal information. Diarmuid Keane is the controller for support correspondence and information processed to operate this website.
Your records in the app
Truckers stores the information you enter in the app's local storage on your device. This may include your name, telephone number and email; company and contact details; truck and trailer identifiers; company logos; work dates, destinations, quantities, pay rates, bonuses and allowances; vehicle checks, defects and photos; and annual leave requests, dates and statuses.
The current app does not require a Truckers account, upload these records to a developer-operated server, or include advertising, third-party analytics or location tracking. Calculations and reports are generated on your device. We do not receive your records simply because you use the app.
App data may be included in Apple device backups depending on your device settings. Apple handles those services under its own terms and privacy information. Your employer may have separate responsibilities for records you create or send to it.
Exports, photos and email
You choose which images to add through the device's photo picker. When you export a PDF, spreadsheet or full backup, or send an annual leave email, you choose the recipient or storage destination. Those copies can contain personal and financial information. Your email, storage or other sharing provider handles the information according to its own policies.
Sending a report to a company gives that recipient a copy. Deleting the record in Truckers does not delete an exported file, email, recipient's copy or device backup. The default company email in Settings is used when preparing a leave request; you review and send the message yourself.
When you contact support
We receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, diagnose a problem and keep track of the support enquiry. Our basis is our legitimate interest in providing support and maintaining the app; where an enquiry is necessary to fulfil a contract with you, we also rely on that contract.
Send only the information needed for your enquiry. We retain correspondence while the enquiry is open and afterwards only as needed for related follow-up, recurring fault investigation or an applicable legal obligation. Retention is assessed by the purpose of the enquiry and any remaining need to keep it. You can ask us to delete correspondence we no longer need.
Website hosting and cookies
This is a static marketing and support website hosted through Cloudflare. When you visit, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address, requested URL, request time, browser information and security signals to deliver and protect the site. Our basis for necessary site operation and security is legitimate interests.
We have not added advertising trackers, a marketing mailing list, analytics scripts, embedded third-party videos or a contact-form database. Website security features may use strictly necessary cookies. See our cookie notice for more detail.
Technical data retention depends on the hosting and security services used and the need to investigate faults or abuse. We do not build individual browsing profiles. Cloudflare's privacy information explains its processing and international safeguards.
Who can receive information?
Our hosting provider and the email provider used to receive support requests process the information needed to supply their services. We may disclose information where legally required, to respond to a lawful request or to protect legal rights. We do not sell personal information.
Service providers may process information outside Ireland or the EEA. Where we arrange a restricted international transfer, applicable safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual protections, must be in place. Contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your enquiry.
Keeping and deleting app records
The app supports a 24-month record review. Older records are identified for removal, but stay on the device until you confirm deletion. You have an opportunity to export them first. Settings and future records remain as needed for the app. You control the retention of exported copies and your device backups. Removing the app may remove its locally stored records.
Your choices and rights
You can edit records and export data in the app, and control what you share. For personal information we hold, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability where applicable, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. If processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Email info@irish-truckers.com to exercise these rights. We may need to verify your identity before disclosing information. We cannot access or remotely delete records held only on your device. You can complain to Ireland's Data Protection Commission or your local supervisory authority.
Security, children and changes
Protect your device with a passcode and keep the app and operating system updated. Take care when sharing reports and backups. The app is intended for working drivers and is not directed at children. We do not use your information for automated eligibility decisions or profiling.
This policy will be updated if the app or website's handling of information changes. The date above identifies this version. Material changes will be explained through an appropriate notice.
